Who is Rabbi Abaham Meir Steinberg?

The Rabbi Abraham Meir Steinberg, director of Operations and Halachic director of Kashrut of Latin America, is widely recognized as one of the world's leading experts in the field of Kashrut. Abraham Meir Steinberg received the rabbinical ordination from Mijael Perets Shlit"A (Smijah Issur Ve Eter, with the degree of Rab Moré and on the mitzváh of Jadash). He was ordained within the Chabad tradition in Israel, obtaining the Smijá of Issur Ve Eter from Rabbi Eliahu Yojanan Gurarie Shlit"A (Rabbi of Jolon), Rabbi Moshe Havlin Shli"A (Rabbi of Kiriat Gad), Rabbi Shlomo Jaim Diskin Shlit'A (Rabbi of Kiriat Ata), Rabbi Tzion Cohen Shlit"A (Rabbi of Or Yehuda), Rabbi Binyamin Preminger Shlit"A (Rabbi of the Latin American group Lemaan Yilmedú) and Rabbi Shmuel Halevi Maal Shlit"A (Director of the Lemaan Yilmedú Program). Additionally, he has certification as a Shojet, specialized in the sacrifice of birds and mammals according to Jewish and Kashrut standards, granted by Rabbi Yaacov Perets Z’L, Rabbi Shlomo Katzin Shlit"A and Rabbi Yonathan Jaim Gabai Shlit"A. Recently, he completed his training in halachot Shabat to expand his knowledge in Kosher programs.

Rabbi Abraham Meir Steinberg has a career of over 25 years in Kosher certification. He has held positions at all levels of the process, starting as a substitute supervisor in establishments such as pizzerias and evolving to supervisory positions in restaurants, bakeries and butcher shops. Later, he took on the responsibility of reviewing operations in food, beverage, alcoholic beverage, vitamin, piping systems, aromatic chemical, and other factories. His experience includes directing and managing certifications, developing Kosher procedure manuals for both supervisors and industrial plants, thoroughly reviewing reports and making business adjustments to comply with Kosher standards, as well as planning special productions and executing specialized tasks in Kashrut, having held all relevant positions within certifying organizations.

During the decade prior to his activity in this Kosher certification for Latin America, Rabbi Abraham Meir Steinberg worked at KMD as a Rabbinic Coordinator in areas related to alcoholic beverages, reviewing supervisors' reports and also serving as a Field Rabbinic Representative through visits to factories on behalf of KMD. He wrote technical Kosher manuals, trained Mashguijim, and initiated and maintained until mid-2021 the first list of kosher alcohol in Central America. Additionally, Rabbi Steinberg served as a technical advisor on Kashrut for KMD and other international Kosher supervision organizations over the past few years.
